When looking at company culture, an essential pillar of the workplace atmosphere and central to the concepts of leadership and workplace atmosphere, there needs to be a strong focus on the role models that set the tone for their colleagues. The important factor for successful leadership is that the values that are to be upheld in the company must be lived on the individual stage. Equally, role models or examples will be set. But in order to act according to the right values, one has to first learn how to self-manage properly and become aware of the personal responsibility that we all carry.
The central logic here is that actions on the micro-level will eventually crystallize into values, norms, and ultimately a culture inside a company. To learn self-management, there are countless techniques available on different platforms – another challenge is to find the right one! In any case, this is an investment on two levels: firstly, it fosters personality growth and makes individuals address their shortcomings in order to further develop personal traits such as resilience, patience, and productivity. Secondly, it is an investment in the company culture. Not everything can be quantified, but personal growth and personal responsibility will ultimately have an impact on every single process in an organization – if the leader leads by example.
